The following is a description of the 22 Dorchester County Penny Sales Tax Transportation Authority projects. Click on the project title to view a map of the project.

1) Berlin G. Myers Parkway
Complete construction from SC Route 165 to US Route 17-A.

2) US Route 78
Construction of 6.6 miles of 3-lane roadway with passing lanes in sections. Improvement of intersections at Jedburg Road (Road S-18-58) and Deming Way Road (S-18-789) on
US Route 78 from SC Route 165 to beginning of 4-lane section in St. George. Total length: 22.27 miles.

3) Dorchester Road
Widening the existing 2-lane section to 4 lanes with left and right turn lane on Dorchester Road (SC Route 642) from Oakbrook just west of Road S-18-199 to US Route 17-A.
Total length: 5.3 miles.

4) US Route 178
Widening the existing 24-foot pavement to 28 feet and resurfacing US Route 178 from US Route 78 to the Orangeburg County line. Total length: 15.2 miles.

5) US Route 15
Widening the existing 24-foot pavement to 28 feet and resurfacing US Route 15 from Grover to the Colleton County line. Total length: 3.4 miles.

6) Central Avenue (Road S-18-13)
Widening the existing 22-foot pavement to 26 feet and resurfacing. Intersection improvements at Parsons Road (Road S-18-59), replacement of Brick Arch Culvert, and realignment of roadway at Road S-18-215. Total length: 6.7 miles.

7) Gahagan Road (Road S-18-339)
Intersection improvement at Gahagan Road (Road S-18-339) and Berlin G. Myers Parkway (SC Route 165.)

8) Orangeburg Road (Road S-18-22)
Widening Orangeburg Road (Road S-18-22) from existing 20-foot pavement to 24 feet. Resurfacing from Dorchester Road (SC Route 642) to Berkeley County Line. Intersection improvements at Road S-18-35. Total length: 9.39 miles.

9) Resurface Streets to the Town of Harleyville
Resurfacing the streets and roads in and adjacent to the Town of Harleyville. Repavement and reconstruction of deteriorated sections of concrete sidewalk to A.D.A. Standards. Total length of resurfacing: 9.11 miles Total length of sidewalk rehabilitation: 1.74 miles.

10) Resurface Streets in the Town of Ridgeville
Resurfacing the streets in the Town of Ridgeville. Removal of existing asphalt sidewalks and construction of concrete sidewalks to A.D.A. Standards.
Total length of sidewalks: 1.63 miles. Total length of resurfacing: 2.79 miles.

11) Resurface Streets and Roads in the Town of St. George
Resurface streets and roads in and adjacent to the Town of St. George. Total length of resurfacing: 6.68 miles.

12) Old Fort Drive (S-18-662)
Extension of Old Fort Drive (S-18-662) from Old Fort Estates to Ladson Road (S-18-230). Estimated length: 1.2 miles.

13) Intersection Improvements at the Robert Bosch Plant
Traffic study and intersection improvements on Dorchester Road (SC Route 642) at the Robert Bosch Plant.

14) Pave 260 Dirt Roads
Pavement of 260 miles of County and State (SCDOT) dirt roads.

15) Industrial Road (SC-18-194)
Resurfacing and improving 0.93 mile of Industrial Road (S-18-194.)
Clubhouse Road (S-18-84)
Resurfacing and improving 8.47 miles of Clubhouse Road (Road S-18-84.)

16) SC Route 453
Resurfacing and widening of SC Route 453 at intersection of Interstate 26 from Circle Cement Plant to Road S-18-50.

17) American LaFrance to Wescott
Construction of Future Drive from American LaFrance to Wescott.

18) Old Fort Road
Construction of Old Fort Road from Oakbrook Elementary to Palmetto Commerce Parkway.

19) Patriots Boulevard
Construction of Patriots Boulevard from Appian Way to Wescott.

20) Bacons Bridge Road (SC Route 165)
Widen roadway from 2 to 5 lanes with paved and grass shoulders from south of SC 61 to Ashley River Bridge and from 2 to 5 lanes with curb & gutter from Ashley River Bridge to end of project. Construct a 10’ multi-use path on the east side of roadway from Ashley River Bridge to Jimbo Road; 8’ multi-use path from Jimbo Road to end of project; and 8’ multi-use path on the west side of roadway from Sawmill Branch Parking area to end of project. Replace bridges at Sawmill Branch, Ashley River, and overflow relief. Overflow relief will be replaced with an arch culvert. SC 165 Project Length: 3.639 miles. Side Roads Length: 1.384 miles.

21) Lincoln Boulevard
Construction of Lincoln Boulevard from Dorchester Road (SC Route 642) to Ashley Phosphate Road (Road S-18-62.)
